Hedge Calculator
You have a live NFL or CFB ticket and the line has moved your way. Enter the original bet and today's price on the opposite side — we'll size the hedge that pays the same no matter which way the game lands.
Hedge $131.25 to lock +$118.75 guaranteed, whichever side wins.
Hedge stake (-150)
$131.25
Total at risk: $231.25
Original ticket returns
$350
Unhedged upside: +$250
If the original side wins: +$118.75
If the hedge side wins: $-12.5
How to use it
- 1. Enter your open ticket. Use the American odds you took and the amount you staked — a futures price, a live in-game line or the first leg of a parlay all work.
- 2. Shop the other side. Pull the best current price on the opposite outcome from the live edge feed. Better hedge odds mean a bigger locked profit.
- 3. Place the hedge stake shown. That amount equalizes both outcomes. Stake less to keep upside on the original side, stake more to tilt toward the hedge.
- 4. Grade it later. Hedging protects bankroll but usually costs closing line value — log the bet in the CLV scorecard to see the real cost over a season.
Hedging vs. arbitrage
Hedging starts with a bet you already hold and asks how much of the other side to buy. Arbitrage starts with two prices available right now that are mispriced against each other. If you have no open ticket, use the arbitrage calculator instead.
